Teaching
Nearly 15 years of preK-12 teaching experience at a variety of types of schools including:
  • urban education
  • rural education
  • nontraditional correspondence and online/blended learning education and schools
  • mathematics teaching and coaching experience
  • instructional technology support and coaching
Experience in higher education (beginning in 2017) including:
  • teaching in undergraduate education
  • managing and teaching online success strategies utilizing Canvas and Desire2Learn learning management systems
  • appointment as adjunct faculty in online graduate program in instructional design and technology
  • appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in STEM, with affiliation with Teaching and Teacher Education
  • course lead for Technology in Classrooms and Curriculum Development
  • teaching academic success course for freshmen students at Texas A&M University

Research
Research experience in a variety of contexts and domains including:
  • developing and cultivating school-based research partnerships
  • conducting research in nontraditional online charter school high school settings
  • focus on the intersection of online high school mathematics achievement, at-risk students and self-regulated learning
  • exploring research context of preservice teacher education programs at the intersection of educational technology
  • engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Presentation at both national and international conferences:
  • Multiple time presenter at the Annual Meetings of the American Educational Research Association, including the co-recipient of a Best Paper Award
  • Presenter at the annual session of the National Consortium for Instruction and Cognition, including Bs Student Paper Runner-up winner
  • Presenter at the annual conference of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology
  • Presenter at the annual conference of the Texas Computers Educators Association
