My background
My educational background is based on experience and knowledge in educational technology integration with a primary focus on mathematics education. I attended Carthage College (Kenosha, WI) where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics, while focusing on secondary education. Since then, I have earned a Master of Arts from The George Washington University (Washington DC) in educational technology leadership. Finally, I am finishing my PhD degree studies at The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH) during the 2020-2021 academic year. During that span, I have spent 15 years as a high school mathematics teacher across urban and rural schools, serving primarily students in drop out prevention and credit recovery schools.
I am currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture. My first semester of instruction was Fall 2021. My primary scholarship revolves around a few key areas, including teacher education with use of technology, particularly development of beliefs, and the impact of various student and family focused factors on K-12 online learning engagement and success.
